Playing Tourist in My Own City (Different Things to do in Houston)
When was the last time you explored your city? It's so easy to go to the usual restaurants, visit the same places with friends, and never try anything new. My friends and I love trying new things, so when my bestie had a birthday, I knew we had to spend the day hitting up some new spots around town. Now, the first on our list is not a new location by any means, but it was something I knew my bestie would love. You see, she's a huge Texans fan (and an even bigger JJ Watt fan - but who isn't?), so I thought, why not go see the stadium? Did you know that NRG Stadium offers tours a couple days a week for just $6?
We got to see everything from the locker room to walking on the actual football field. It. Was. Awesome. Oh, the selfies that were taken. Ha! But seriously, if you're ever available during the week in Houston, I seriously suggest taking the tour. Minute Maid also does tours there as well that are equally as cool and affordable!
We also walked around Highland Village. We perused the sale racks, I bought way too much at Paper Source, and capped it off by enjoying a Sprinkles cupcake. Being the cupcake connoisseur that I am, how weird is it that I have never had theirs before?
I tried the lemon coconut and it was delish. And how fun is their cute cupcake ATM. It really works, y'all!
All in all, we had a fabulous day eating, shopping, and going new places. I encourage you all to be a tourist in your own city today!
