A Few of My Favorite Things

Every photographer has their list of go-to items, what equipment they like to use, where they like to shoot at, etc. So for your viewing pleasure, I put together a list of my favorite things. Favorite Camera Body

Well, it's the one I have - the Canon 5D Mark II. With 21.1 megapixels, what isn't there to like? The day I upgraded to that bad boy was the day I first saw my photos pop!

Favorite Lenses

I have favorite lenses for different occasions.

My go to for portraits is always my Canon 50mm 1.4. It produces such clear, crisp, photos and I love a sharp photo!

momma to be

For macro shots, I love the 100mm Macro 2.8 IS . man oh man, do I love macro!

camouflage rings

For those photos needing a little zoom power, I like the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS. It puts you right in the action without being, well, right in the action.St. Paul's Methodist Church: Houston, TX

Editing Software

Photoshop all the way! I'm hoping to get into the world of Adobe Lightroom soon, though!

Favorite Technique

Flare. But I'm careful not to overuse it. Some situations call for a burst of light running through the image, and I love creating that drama flare evokes.

Favorite Location

This is a tough question to answer, because different situations evoke different emotions. For instance I love using grungy, grafitti-covered walls and exposed brick and pipes for high school senior shoots. And an open field or tall, expansive oak tress might be the perfect setting for an engagement session. However, at the end of the day, I want the location to match the personality of the person in front of my lens.
